Relationships can be a source of tremendous joy and can also be the source of some of our greatest pain. A breakdown in connection over the years or in the wake of significant events such as life transitions, grief, attachment injuries, or personality differences can cause relational pain. For some couples, unidentified neurodiversity in the relationship has caused a lot of confusion, and traditional couple’s therapy can even cause more harm if left unidentified. I specialize in helping couples, in every stage of life, navigate the difficult terrain of the here and now of their stories to the other side of hope, healing, and connection.
In our three-day couple’s intensive, couples are actively engaged in the therapeutic process as we work together to slow down the fast-paced relational dance, identify core needs and wounds that show up and block connection, identify and release deeply held negative beliefs about self, and other, and create new opportunities to experience relational healing through carefully choreographed emotionally corrective experiences. Drawing from a multi-modal approach, I focus on the importance of healing core wounds that are inevitably a part of the human experience. I seek to bring hope, healing, and mindful integration to every session to build and strengthen self-worth, confidence, and a deep sense of being seen and known. Every human is wired differently, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. As we look below the surface of often distressing emotions and behaviors, we explore deeper underlying heartfelt beliefs about self and others. We deeply dive into complex personal and relational spaces to help shed light and hope into some of the most challenging and distressing experiences in their stories. For some couples, this is brand new terrain, yet it is the next step for healing.
Couples who participate in our intensives report experiencing a greater understanding of how and why they are experiencing distress, healing from relational wounds, and sensing glimmers of hope that change and healing is possible. It is never too late to learn new ways of understanding and communicating with each other. Collaboration with other therapists and specialists is also an integral part of care. Every couple is unique, and your care plan should be as well. For couples interested in learning more about participating in a couple’s intensive, call to schedule a free consultation.
When not in the office, I enjoy playing Bach on the piano, sipping coffee with friends, and getting new stamps on my passport. Having lived in Southeast Asia as a family of 6 for a season, we were given the gift of becoming global citizens, which has given me a bigger view of the world and informed my perspective on life. I value the dignity and beauty of all people and honor the sacred gift of holding space for their stories.

April Lamoreaux, LPCC-S
Care Coordinator
My faith fuels my passion for encouraging others to work towards restoration with themselves and within their relationships. I want individuals to be refreshed in who they are so they can know and become the best version of themselves. I want therapy to be a place where people feel safe to unpack the difficult parts of themselves and feel supported in that process but also encouraged that they do not have to stay there—healing is possible.
As a training coordinator in the mental health field for over ten years, I specialize in providing mentorship and support to new and developing therapists as they journey toward becoming the professionals they dreamed they could be. I am available for consultation and supervision services for Licensed Professional Counselors seeking a Clinical license.
When not in the office, I find the most joy in spending time with my support system, including my husband, fur babies, and close family and friends. I love to read and listen to music, and my favorite place to do that is on the beach.
Kirk Sheppard, LPCC-S
Property Manager & Creative Associate
I’m thrilled to join the Kintsukuroi team in an administrative capacity, managing the rental of our office, group, and gathering spaces, producing the upcoming podcast, “Repairing the Shattered with Sharon Hicks,” and tackling other various administrative and creative duties.
As a counselor myself, I understand the need to show up as our best selves for our clients – and I hope to accentuate the work of Sharon and the team by taking care of business.
In my spare time, I’m a playwright, theatre blogger, photographer, and more. My memoir/self-help book, Jesus & Me: Questioning God, Life, and Everything in Between, will be released on January 14, 2025.

Soul Collage Facilitator
From the first night of my first SoulCollage® class, I was hooked. SoulCollage® is the most fun I’ve ever had with self-discovery and self-expression. SoulCollage® card making is a quiet, personal activity and I love honoring myself with time focused solely on me. Every week, I learn something new about myself. I’m uncovering layer after layer of profound inner wisdom and learning to love and accept myself fully. Sharing this passion as a SoulCollage® Facilitator is my way of helping others find joy in themselves. We are all worthy of being celebrated!
Outside of SoulCollage®, I am a reader, writer, communicator, planner, presenter, team leader, and project manager. I love helping businesses and non-profits positively impact the world through well-written content and organized projects.
